Using nair to remove pubic hair

Start by washing the area you wish to remove hair from in a warm shower. Have the bottle of Nair (make sure it is made for the bikini area), two washcloths and soap ready before you start. Once you have washed the specific area, stand out of the direct spray of the shower and apply a generous amount of Nair onto your fingers. Smooth it onto the area, making sure only to touch skin and not any sensitive parts. Nair only works on the bikini area, not all hair around it. Do not rub it into the skin, but rather dab it on and smear it lightly so you have a thick paste covering the hair.

Preparing Your Skin

Start by washing the area you wish to remove hair from in a warm shower. Have the bottle of Nair (make sure it is made for the bikini area), two washcloths and soap ready before you start. Once you have washed the specific area, stand out of the direct spray of the shower and apply a generous amount of Nair onto your fingers. Smooth it onto the area, making sure only to touch skin and not any sensitive parts. Nair only works on the bikini area, not all hair around it. Do not rub it into the skin, but rather dab it on and smear it lightly so you have a thick paste covering the hair.

Using Nair

Have a clock in view from the shower and, once the Nair has been applied, wait 5 minutes. If it starts to burn or become uncomfortable, wash it off immediately and cleanse the area with a gentle soap. After 5 minutes, gently rub away a small area with a washcloth. If the hair comes off easily, rinse off the cloth and continue to wipe away the rest of the Nair. If there is still hair left, wait a few more minutes, no more than 10, and then wipe it off. Rinse any excess Nair off with water and hang the used washcloth where you won't accidentally pick it up again later.

Finishing and Caring for Skin

Rinse your skin in warm water, and wash again with a mild soap. Gently pat the area with the second, clean washcloth to make sure all Nair is completely removed. If any hair is left over, leave it for now. Using Nair again, or shaving, can cause irritation and pain in the skin. Wait at least 1 week between uses. After you get out of the shower, gently pat the area dry; do not rub. Wear loose fitting clothing for several hours to avoid irritation. If you have a soothing aftershave lotion made for the bikini area, use it to calm the skin and preserve moisture.

How to Shave Your Bikini Area Completely

Shave Your Bikini Area Completely
If you'd like to try the Brazilian wax look but you're wary of waxing, a careful shave will give you the nearly same look, pain-free. Here are instructions on how to make shaving your bikini area completely a safe and easy part of your shower routine.

EditSteps

Part One: Shave Your Mons Pubis

  1. 1
Decide what you want your mons pubis (the mound of pubic hair under your belly button) to look like. Choose the option that makes you feel the most feminine and sexy. You have a few options:

    • Shave it all off. There are no health risks to shaving all of your hair off as long as you don't cut yourself.
    • Use a stencil. You will place a stencil, like a small heart, over your pubic area. Then, you'll shave around the stencil to leave a section of hair with a fun shape over your pubic area. You can find stencil kits at most adult stores or online.
    • Create a landing strip. Your landing strip, or a line extending up from your labial part toward your belly button, can be either whisper thin (good for thick, unruly hair) or slightly wider (for thin sparse hair).
  2. 2
Trim your pubic hair with scissors to about 1/4" (6 mm) in length before you get into the shower.

  3. 3
Start your shower and allow some time before you begin shaving so that your skin and hair warm up and soften. You can also soak in the tub for a little while before standing up in the shower to shave the area. If you want to wash the area, clean it before you start shaving to avoid irritating your exposed skin later.
  4. 4
Wet your mons pubis with warm shower water and smooth some shaving gel over it.

    • Definitely invest in some shaving gel for this delicate area, even if you normally use soap for your legs and armpits, on the first time that you shave it.
    • Shop for a transparent, non-foamy shower gel so that you can see what you're doing while you shave.
  5. 5
Briefly wet a previously unused razor. The razor should be a brand that you know and use often for maximum comfort.
  6. 6
Shave with long, slow, even strokes in the direction of hair growth. Put your hand onto your stomach just above the mons pubis to make sure the skin over your mons pubis is smooth and taut.

    • When shaving, let the blade do the work. Avoid pressing down into your skin.
    • If you have thick, curly hair and you're having a tough time shaving it, try using an electric razor to trim it down even more before you use the handheld razor for the finishing touches.
    • To prevent skin irritation, keep the strokes as smooth and long as possible. Use as few strokes as possible.
    • Rinse your razor between strokes if it becomes clogged with hair.
  7. 7
Remove as much hair from your mons pubis as you like. Check for missed spots and shave them. Apply more shaving gel if you need to.
    • For a closer shave, reapply shaving gel to the mons pubis and again using long, smooth strokes, shave in the direction opposite of the direction that your hair grows in instead.
    • Stop shaving against your hair growth immediately if you experience any irritation or pain.[1]

Part Two: Shave Between Your Thighs

  1. 1
Choose which side you would like to shave first. Try starting with the side opposite your dominant hand (e.g., if you're right-handed, start with your left side).
  2. 2
Bend at the waist and lift the leg that's on the same side as the part that you want to shave. Doing this will help you to see the area clearly. Prop your raised leg on the shower wall if you need to.

  3. 3
Wet the area and apply shaving gel to the area. Take care not to get any gel or other shower products in between the labia.

  4. 4
Shave with smooth, horizontal strokes from the outside in (e.g., if you're shaving your left side, shave from left to right). Use a light touch. Stop each stroke before the end of the labium in the center.

    • You may want to spread your legs further apart to keep the skin you're shaving taut, so that you won't run into any folded or wrinkled skin while you're shaving.
    • Rinse any excess shaving gel when you are done shaving the first side.
  5. 5
Shave the other side of your labia and your other inner thigh crease.

Part Three: Aftercare to Prevent Irritation

  1. 1
Pat your bikini area dry with a soft towel. Don't rub your bikini area vigorously, or you may irritate the delicate skin.

  2. 2
Pat your pubic area with some baby powder. You may also apply baby lotion to the area to reduce irritation.

  3. 3
Apply a toner containing witch hazel and rosemary. This toner will help to prevent razor burn.
  4. 4
Look out for red bumps on the days after you shave. You can apply a special ointment to eliminate red bumps in your bikini area. Look for an ointment at your drugstore or supermarket.
  5. 5
Allow at least a few days in between shaves. For a constantly hair-free look, you may have to look at other hair removal techniques, such as waxing or laser hair removal.
  6. 6
Avoid wearing skin-tight clothing. Tight clothing can cause irritation and can also cause ingrown hairs to form.[2]

EditTips

  • Don't shave dry.
  • Don't shave the same spot over and over again! You will create ingrown hairs which are a TOTAL pain to deal with and aren't very attractive!
  • Always use shaving gels, soaps, and lotions that you know your skin won't react to. Avoid using a new bath product for the first time in your bikini area.
  • Aloe Vera is a good gel to use for shaving. It also helps with preventing and treating itching and irritation afterwords.
  • Do not shave upwards towards your body or over recent razor bumps.
  • You may experience a lot of itchiness as the hair grows back. However, you'll minimize itching if you use long, slow strokes when shaving and shave with a new clean razor. Fortunately, the itchiness usually disappears after a few shaves.
  • If you're scared to shave your whole bikini area right away, start by shaving your bikini line. As you get used to working down there, you can ease into shaving the whole area.
  • You may experience red bumps, but that is normal for the first few tries but make sure to clean the bikini area before shaving, or you are more likely to cut yourself.
  • When you are done shaving, put on baby lotion or baby oil to help with the itch and irritation.

EditWarnings

  • Stop shaving immediately if you experience any irritation or cuts, and rinse your irritation or cut thoroughly with clear, running water. Never shave skin that is already irritated or is in any way unhealthy.
  • Avoid using depilatory cream if you want to go completely bare. Depilatories will work on your bikini line, but they could leave chemical burns on the sensitive skin next to your sex organs.
  • Never use an electric razor with rotating blades in your pubic area. One word--OUCH!
  • Do not apply any perfume, body spray or feminine deodorant spray to the area immediately post shave. The spray will sting, and it may irritate your skin.
  • Do not apply unknown shaving creams.

EditThings You'll Need

  • Transparent shave gel
  • New clean razor
  • Stencil
  • Electric razor
  • Soft towel
  • Baby powder or baby lotion
  • Toner containing witch hazel and rosemary
  • Ointment for red bumps

How to Shave Your Pubic Hair Area for Women

omen shaving their pubic hair is different than using the razor on legs or underarms. You need a bit more patience and care because of this sensitive zone and thicker hair type. While you might be able to get away with a 'hurry up and get it done job' with other areas, but not this one. Here we will show you how to get a close, safe shave while avoiding common problems like nicks and ingrown hairs.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 15- 30 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Choose your shaving cream wisely. For this sensitive body zone be sure to get and use a good shaving cream or gel, using soap is definitely out. The Art of Shaving, Unscented Shaving Cream (compare prices) is phenomenal for getting a smooth shave, moisturizing skin and preventing ingrown hairs.
  2. Don’t skimp on your razor. Stay clear of the straight, cheap disposables or you'll be asking for cuts and nicks. Instead use a razor with a pivoting head and multiple blades to give you a smooth, close shave. My pick is Schick Quattro for Women (compare prices).
  3. Give a haircut. Trim hair down first as short as possible by placing comb flat on the skin and trim over comb with scissors, or with clippers using the shortest guard. The less hair you start out with means less use of your razor.
  4. Take a warm shower or bath. At least 5-10 minutes of the heat will soften skin and relax the hair follicle.
  5. Exfoliate. Rid dead skin cells and provide a closer shave by using a mild exfoliator or your favorite body wash with an Ayate washcloth (compare prices) on your pubic area.
  6. Dab on some shaving oil. Working as a barrier on your skin, the razor will glide easier instead of dragging and moisturize skin. It also helps prevent razor burn, general irritation and ingrown hairs.
  7. Apply shaving cream or gel. Make sure skin is damp but not overly wet. If you have a shaving brush, work the product with the brush in circles to help lift hair and get a closer shave.
  8. Shave. Using a fresh blade, first go in the same direction of hair growth and then in opposite direction. Don't go over the same area too many times.
  9. Rinse. In between strokes, be sure to rinse blade. A clogged razor won’t work well.
  10. Cleanse. Rinse pubic area and pat dry with towel.
  11. Moisturize. Apply a light, preferably unscented lotion.
  12. Fight redness. There's a tendency for getting ingrown hairs. Flawless Ingrown Hair Serum(read review) can help with bumps, redness and ingrown hairs.

Tips:

  1. Keep all products on the outside of your body only. And avoid shaving during your period, as skin is more sensitive.
  2. If you are taking off most of your hair, a vaginal shield, the Va j-j Visor will offer you protection so you don't cut your inner vulva. Using a small mirror will also help you see better.
  3. Shaving while taking a shower, rather than a bath can make things easier because you can prop up legs on side of stall.
  4. If you're daring, you can create pubic hair designs at home.
  5. Shaving only takes hair even with the skin, waxing will keep hair away weeks at a time. You may want to consider a Brazilian wax.

What You Need

  • Comb and scissors or clippers
  • New pivoting razor with multiple blades
  • Shaving cream or gel
  • Pre-shaving oil
  • Shaving brush (optional)
  • Cortizone cream if pubic area starts getting itchy
  • Light, unscented moisturizer

How to Fix Bushy Eyebrows (for Girls)

Steps

  1. 1
Look into the mirror, and think about how your eyebrows look now. Take a photo, and compare online to celebrities or models with eyebrows you really like, and see if they would suit your face. Your eyebrows may not be that bad and just in need for a tidy.

  2. 2
For those who has never gotten their eyebrows done professionally and are thinking of styling it themselves, stop! Put the tweezers down and walk away from them. Why risk destroying your eyebrows if you could go to the local salon and get them done professionally? There are people out there who shape and clean eyebrows for a living. If you're a first timer, get your eyebrows done by a professional.

  3. 3
Always consult with mom and dad. If you feel like cleaner eyebrows will help you feel better, make sure that your parents understand. Speak calmly and let them know that it would really make you feel better if they support you. It wouldn't hurt to remind them that being a teenager is tough and that a little confidence and self-esteem will go a long way.

  4. 4
Do research. Are you going to get it plucked? Wax? Threaded? Where are you getting it done? Are you allergic to wax? Prices? These are important questions that need to be answered. Make sure to consult a salon and get your questions answered.

  5. 5
Buy an eyebrow brush, it'll help you shape your eyebrows. Just comb your eyebrow hairs up and snip off any hairs that are too long. Repeat, combing your hair downwards. It is also helpful to keep your eyebrows tidy.

  6. 6
If you have to go DIY, only pluck strays and any monobrow hairs. Never pluck into your eyebrow by yourself. It's easy to overpluck but can take up to 3 months for your hairs to grow back

How to Fix Bushy Eyebrows

Learn some quick ways to fix your bushy eyebrows, if they are becoming a cause of embarrassment for you!

Eyebrows and eyes convey a lot of feelings, without you uttering a word. Unfortunately, eyebrows are rarely paid the same attention as eyes. Men, especially are least bothered about the hairy growth above their eyes. They simply don't care if their eyebrows are barely visible or are so bushy that they may obstruct their vision! However, for some people, particularly teenage girls, bushy eyebrows can be a cause of concern. Young girls are so conscious about their looks that even a slight imperfection may shatter their self esteem to pieces.

Tips for Fixing Bushy Eyebrows

Salon or Home?
Most women go to salons to get their eyebrows professionally done. However, if you are a teenage girl, your options may not be many. Your parents may prevent you from getting your eyebrows done by a professional, thinking that it may be too early for you to start working upon your face and body. This may force you to try to tame bushy eyebrows at home. However, I would like to offer a word of caution to all young girls. Please do not attempt to pluck your eyebrows yourself with a pair of tweezers or nail scissors. Asking your friend to do the job for you is an equally bad idea. Therefore, my advice to you would be to convince your folks to get your eyebrows done at salon, if you are over 16. Until then, it is best to rely on an eyebrow brush to keep your eyebrow strands in place.

Threading or Waxing?
Your mother may know a thing or two about plucking eyebrows, but, as you will be doing it for the first time, let professional hands work upon your eyebrows. Thus, convincing your parents is the only option you have. However, when they do agree, do not forget to take your mother along with you to the salon. A few other options, when you are old enough to get eyebrows done, include threading and waxing. These two methods not only give a defined shape to eyebrows, but also reduce hair growth over a period of time. Plucking is considered as the best method to define your brows only if you wish to get rid of a few unwanted hair here and there.

Taming Bushy Eyebrows in Men
Bushy eyebrows are extremely common in men. However, it is not very often that men take real efforts to do something about it. However, if you happen to be one of those few men who are bothered by the overgrowth of their eyebrows, then you would be delighted to know that there indeed are some ways to tame your bushy or overgrown eyebrows. You can apply hair gel to your eyebrows, so that the hair strands don't stick out of your eyebrows. Hair gel will give your eyebrows a defined look.

Alternatively, you may also try applying Vaseline on your eyebrows in the shape of your choice. Continue this exercise for a few days and your eyebrows will naturally look in place. If the hair growth is too much, then you may use nail scissors or tweezers to trim the excess growth. As a last resort, you may turn to a professional for help.

Well-groomed eyebrows speak a lot about your personality and give you a polished look. Naturally, bushy eyebrows are not acceptable if you are a working woman in a service industry or a corporate organization. Even in men, unkempt eyebrows can put people off. Thus, it is very important to maintain and groom your eyebrows.
